It was a great run through San Francisco, along the Embarcadaro, the Piers, Fisherman's Wharf and to the Golden Gate Bridge approach. 8 miles out was a little more than I had anticipated and there was no way I was doing a 16 mile out-and-back. But I couldn't stop.
Something compelled me over that bridge... At one point I actually said aloud to myself:
"Oh to hell with it. You'll figure out how to get back to the hotel. Just go for it."
The views were amazing. I'm very glad I kept going.
Here's my route. I ran over the bridge and back but then took a taxi back to the hotel.
These photos don't do it justice but...
"All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsion, habit, reason, passion, and desire."

Right on! That's an awesome run.. I'm so jealous!
I forgot to mention it was kinda long :-)
Have a great time! SF rocks.
Awesome - I loved that run when I visited San Fran 6 years ago. Still goes down as one of the best. Cool blog! I like all your quotes...
i wanna go back to SF.
nice pics!! :)
I like SF, but haven't run there yet. glad you had fun, have some chowder for me!
likewise w/ flygirl.....sf is a great place to run!
That does look nice.
You took a taxi back to the hotel? Now that's my kind of run!
I did that run a few years back. It was amazing. I actually ran it two days in a row. The first day was so foggy I couldn't see the ends of the bridge, which was a bit scary. The next day was crystal clear like your photos. One great run, with two completely different views. Enjoy the trip!
I love it! This is exactly the type of run I'd love. We all have a tongue in our heads to ask directions, it's so worth it to explore a new place on foot :)
so cool to run somewhere NEW. love the pics!
Beautiful! I did the same thing too ... intended to just get close to the bridge, but then said f*ck it and went over and back. I've never regretted that.
