Back From Idaho

Idaho - or at least the Sun Valley area - is a remarkably picturesque corner of the world. The landscape is rugged, raw and varied. Plateaus give way to prairies. Mountains rise up from the flats and fall into quaint valley towns.

Idaho is also on fire at present. Huge tendrils of smoke from numerous wildfires can be seen for miles. In fact, one morning my run was made rather difficult due to the omnipresent haze of smoke. The 5,300 feet of elevation did not help this sea level dweller much either.

Special thanks to 13akbal for finding the Wood River Trail for me. As it turns out it went right behind our hotel!

Thanks for sharing the pictures. It has been 35 years size I set foot in that state. I was hitch hiking and got stuck at Sun Valley (no one would pick me up going north). To bad I wasn't a runner then, it would have been a whole lot more fun.

Things must be getting exciting at your place with the baby so close.

I also love the rugged beauty of Idaho. I have only seen part of it and looks like I was pretty close to Sun Valley. Came in from Wyoming via the Tetons along the Snake River to Idaho Falls. Then went to Craters of the Moon to camp one night before heading back north to Montana for a few days.

Looks like I need to go back.

Loved your race report (above post).

And congrats on the boy or girl you have coming soon.
