Click-A-Pint

I readily admit that I am a bit of a beer snob. When faced with the predicament of abstaining or having some mass produced swill I will instinctively choose to go without. It's practically a knee-jerk reaction. However, when it comes to the style of beer I am rather open minded. I enjoy hearty stouts and porters, pilsners and pale ales and wheat beers too!

So naturally when I came across www.YouGotBeer.com I was intrigued. Basically, if you wanted to buy me a beer and send it via email you could open your browser and your wallet and send a $5.00 "YouGotBeer" gift card. The gift card arrives via email snail mail and can be redeemed at several national chain restaurants.

Ok, so the downside is that you have to consume your gift at TGI Friday's, Chili's or the like but it's still a free cup of cold barley soup!

When you care enough to send the very best... When you owe someone a drink but don't have the time... Or when you like someone, just not enough to sit down and drink with them... Click a Pint.

Sounds like a great Christmas gift!

I don't think you can find it out East but if you're ever out West here, check out Bristol Brewing Co. and New Belgium Brewing Co. Most beer-drinking Coloradans believe you haven't lived until you've had a Fat Tire.

I'm not a beer connoisseur, but even as a cash-strapped student I chose a good beer over the beer pong variety every time. (Well, maybe except for those frat parties... but that beer was free)

In any case, my agency has a fun project coming up that I think will be right up your alley. I'll keep you posted...

I came across your comment on my blog and decided to come around for a visit. How nice to see another runner's blog about one of my favourite subjects - beer!

A gift card for beer? Well, now I know what I'll be asking for from all my friends for Christmas!

As a side issue, oddly enough, I used that same image of the pints on an evite a few months back, cropped in just the same way. Weird coincidence. Great image though.

Suddenly I'm very thirsty...

As promised: Go to www.fourpoints.com/CBO to enter to become Starwood Hotel's Chief Beer Officer (CBO). The winner will get a slew of Starwood Points (50,000!), an opportunity to sample quarterly the beers in the portfolio (there are over 200), trips to breweries to select future beer offerings, your own beer blog on fourpoints.com, VIP status at the Great American Beer Festival + lots of other perks.

I'd rather have a good micro-brew than the mass produced stuff that can be sold in a can. It's funny to go to restaurants in the midwest - they look at you funny when you ask for a beer selection. If you like the yougotbeer site, you should look up the 'beer of the month' clubs - you get imported beers delivered every month - like it's your birthday all year round!

omg - that would be the gift I would buy someone i hated! TGI Fridays?! Damn. And I think your comparison is an insult to barley soup ;)
