Post-Run High

I just got in from a 6.5 mile at an 8 minute per mile pace through Astoria Park. I ran start to finish in the rain. I am sweaty, muddy and completely soaked.

In other words I feel great! Don’t you just love that post-run high?

Don't tell, But I missed a run on Thursday of this week....

I will be attending a wedding this weekend so I won't be able to make it to the long training run. Alas. Think of me on Sunday pounding the pavement all by my lonesome!

Ahhh, rain, I'm so jealous. And sweat and mud - that just tops it all off so nicely. It's still a lot earlier out here on the west coast, so maybe I'll hold out for a while and see if my grey clouds bring rain! I actually pulled up a satellite photo of Astoria Park. You must have so many choices of cool places to run.

I know exactly what you mean. The other day, I came home from work and parked in front of the house instead of in the garage, but before I could get out of the car, it started to rain (really hard).

I ran all the way from the car to the house. It felt awesome.

And that is the extent of my rigorous exercise routine.

Absolutely love a summer rain run. It's something non-runners will never get, but that's just too bad for them, eh?

When my non-runner friends say I'm crazy, I just think, they don't know what they're missing... :-)

This definitely goes in the column of "things only a runner would say." It's a great thing, that high.

Ginger - Yes, Astoria Park is quite nice (except for the litterbugs!). It's only 1.25 miles to run around so I often go out of the park on interesting runs thru NYC

Mark - Sprinting is rigorous exercise.

Just12Finish - I agree. Too bad for non runners. maybe they get that same feeling from a bowl of cherry ice cream?

Sempre - I think non-runners are crazy. I mean, what do they do with all that extra time they must have?

JustRun - Runners high... Word.

Deene & Uptown - I love to make a splash. My shoes however are not very pleased.
