Spring Marathon?

I am quite seriously contemplating a spring marathon for 2008.

On the one hand, signing up for a marathon is a great motivator. If I make the financial and emotional commitment I'll have no choice but to commit myself physically and put in the miles. It could also serve as a way to regain some of the fitness I've lost.

On the other hand training through the winter months isn't going to be any fun (case in point: today's raining, sleeting, snowstorm).

Decisions. Decisions.

Go for it. 20 mile long runs can be rough in the colder months, but committing for a race or event is the only way I know to keep going through the cold months anyway. Go for it.

I'd go for it. My first half was this past spring and it was the best one - the winter training is hard, but when you have to make such a serious commitment to getting the runs in, you don't blow them off as easily.

Hey there, if you and your Hellgate crew plan any group long runs come Feb/March count me in please! My team, what's left of it anyway, doesn't really go in for the organized group stuff and I've got Boston on my calendar.

Also, my blog is over at a new address now, for your records: www.running-blogs.com/chelle

And are you a BHTM fan? I used to be friends with them in college. I saw they were coming to the city next month and might try'n make it out for that.
